Accommodation
Description
Clerkenwell Albemarle is an understated two bedroom short let London home, moments from Farringdon station. Tucked away on a secret little side road that only our cabbies seem to know, you will not believe how close you are to the hub-bub of the City.
LIVING ROOM
Pristine and well presented, the living room offers attractive honey coloured wooden floor boards, sofa, armchair and a flat screen TV. Enjoy the classic 20th century Eames furniture and bags of London style which make this home a comforting sanctuary.
KITCHEN
The modern kitchen is open plan to the living room, unobtrusive and to the side. It offers all machines including a dishwasher, ceramic hob, washer/dryer, oven, microwave and cafetiere. There is also a folding dining table and chairs for four.
OUTSIDE SPACE
Directly off the kitchen is a large roof terrace overlooking the tranquil courtyard of the Order of St John. This is a lovely spot to relax amidst the fairy lights that adorn the two mature olive trees. The outdoor modular furniture has huge, comfortable cushions.
BEDROOMS
The master bedroom is a haven of calm with soothing smalt coloured walls and a generous king sized bed. The second bedroom has a comfortable single bed and overlooks the attractive church property adjacent. Newly laundered 1000 thread Egyptian quality linen is provided for each stay.
BATHROOM
The smart modern bathroom has a large walk in shower, WC and basin. Deluxe starter toiletries and fluffy white towels are provided as standard.
GENERAL
- Clerkenwell Albemarle is fully furnished and equipped including linen, towels, hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
- This is a spacious short let London home on the second floor of a period building. The flat itself is arranged over two floors.
- The building does not have a lift.
- Children under seven can not be accommodated.
TRANSPORT
- Farringdon station - mainline trains plus Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith and City Line - a five minute walk away
- Barbican station - Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith and City Line - all in travel zone 1 - a seven minute walk.
- Chancery Lane - Central line - fifteen minute walk.
- All in travel zone 1
- There are several car parking garages in the immediate area however we do not recommend that you bring a car to central London.
- Black taxi's are plentiful in this area and can easily be hailed on the corner of the street.
LOCATION
This particular street in historic Clerkenwell is steeped in history. Oliver Twist, perhaps Charles Dickens' most beloved novel, was set in and around here. The Bard himself, Mr William Shakespeare, is said to have held play readings in St John's Square and Henry VII visited the Priory of St John and the cloister gardens behind it.
Clerkenwell itself is a convenient central London location in close proximity to the City, Bloomsbury, Shoreditch, Hoxton and Islington. There are great local amenities, numerous restaurants and supermarkets, plus historic and important cultural attractions. The Barbican is up the road, Hatton Garden is around the corner and you can walk to St Paul’s in 15 minutes. Farringdon station is one of the largest and best connected in London and only one stop to King's Cross / St Pancras. This is an authentic London pied-à-terre, much loved by the home owners and neat as a new pin.
